Sightseeing in Uppsala

In this building i am having my first courses, it is the department of anthropology and ethnology, and I am taking the course Swedish Society and Everyday Life!




This is the famous old University building in Uppsala!




It is a really nice old and impressive building! There are still lecture in the building!

This is the church from Uppsala! It is also an impressive old one!







This are the flogsta buildings! Nearly all the international students and also Swedish students are living here, a little bit out of the centre.





This is the Economy University where I will have my other courses which will start in the mid of February!









And this is my bike!
You really need a bike in Uppsala, otherwise you have to walk 30-40 minutes into the city!
It doesn't matter if it is -17 or snowing, icy or windy - you always ride your bike!

Erster Besuch in Stockholm am 27.01.2007

As most of the people were not able to stand up at 7:30 to catch the bus to Stockholm, because they stayed too long at different corridor parties Bernard and I were the only ones who went to Stockholm. It was a perfect sunny but cold day, and we did a lot of sightseeing.







This in in front of the museum of modern art! I really enjoyed going there. They show pictures and sculptures from the most known artists of the 19th and 20th century!

Delicious cakes and quiches in a small but cosy coffee!


So after this day in Stockholm I decided that I have to go there again as soon as possible, because one day is not long enough to see everything!

Nothing more to say! A great party at Snörikers Nation!!

Uppsalas Economic Students! Hip Hop rocks!

One of the best and funniest activities from the welcome week were the parties from the business department!



First we went together for shopping, and after that we prepared for the big party!

I was in the Hip Hop Group as you can see!

It was the first time and it the good thing was that there have been not only exchange student!
The business department organised these parties for all the new freshman in Uppsala even the Swedish!









But there were also other groups like the cowboys !

Wie alle wahrscheinlich schin wissen bin ich gut in Uppsala angekommen! ;-)




















Die erste große Herausforderung war es jedoch meinen Koffer zu zu bekommen! Man weiß ja nicht was man in den nächsten 6 Monaten noch so alles brauchen kann!

















Hier im Systembolaget - und nur hier - kann man Alkohol über 3,5% kaufen!

Mit Babsi, Sandra und Uwana habe ich gemeinsam die Shoppingmeile in Uppsala erkundet!





Und dann fahrt man nach Uppsala um einen alten Schulfreund wieder zu treffen! Die Welt ist wirklich kein - nicht Markus?




Mit Sophie aus Australien habe ich den Weg zu unserer Uni erkundet!




Und die ersten Welcome Parties haben auch nicht lange auf sich warten lassen!
